Gopher Science Day at The King's School

Eight children from year 5 who have shown flair as young scientists were chosen  to attend The King's School and take in the Gopher Science day with children from other Blacon and Chester schools. We were lucky enough to work in real science labs and focused on investigating characteristics of sharks and snails.

We first explored different ways to measure our heart rate and then measure the change in the heart of water fleas before and after swimming in coffee. In the afternoon we moved onto investigating the characteristics of snails and were able to look after our very own snail for the afternoon. We were blown away with all the fantastic facts we learnt about snails and now want to find our own snail pets!

Take a look at the animals we got to meet at the end of the say too!
