Mrs Dobson

Teacher

Welcome to Year 2

with

Mrs Dobson, Mrs Stanbridge and Miss Hammel

Class Dojo is a great way for me to keep in touch with you all. It's also great to share what you've been up to at home!

The Spring term's context for learning within our vision is 'Connected by Curiosity: Whizz, Pop, Bang!.' Over the term, we will be learning about our local area focusing on: curiosity, resilience and responsibility.

 English

The Dragon Machine by Helen Ward, illustrated by Wayne Anderson (Templar)

We will be reading the story of 'Dragon Machine' by Helen Ward.

For a long time, dragons were ignored and overlooked . . . justlike George. But one rainy Thursday, lonely George sees his first dragon. From that moment on, George's new friends follow him everywhere. They get him into all sorts of trouble, too. The dragons need to find their way home before they're noticed by other people, and George is the only one who can get them there. A child's imagination is the gateway to magic and freedom in this beautiful story from the creators of The Tin Forest.

Maths

Multiplication and Division:  2, 10 and 5 times tables. Arrays and Division.

Fractions:  Fractions of quantities with resources.

Measurement:  Telling the time and Money skills.

Statistics: Block graphs, tally charts, tables and pictograms
