Class Dojo is a great way for me to keep in touch with you all. It's always great to see what you've been up to!
The Spring term's context for learning within our vision is ‘The Sands of Time’.
Our big question this term is: Has everyone had equal opportunities through time?
This will be explored through the Story Box approach, which children first encountered in Early Years, which is drama-rich and engages leaners through provocations, requiring deep thinking, with a focus on raising the profile of oracy.
Our World Knowledge, Science and English will all follow the books; Rosie Revere Engineer and Major Glad Major Dizzy
English
Through the story of Rosie Revere Engineer as a basis we will enter Rosie’s world and meet her family and classmates (Frankie Flapper and Iggy Peck). With a focus on Invention Narrative, Non-chronological reports & Explanation and writing Diaries, Letters, Poetry, Instructions and Emails.
Whilst looking at Major Glad and Major Dizzy, we will meet the pair and the toys and clues they meet whilst being lost under the floorboards. With a focus on Non-chronological reports, descriptive writing and a finding narrative.
