Year 2 2020 - 2021

Miss Griffin

Year Two Teacher

Welcome to Year 2

Miss Griffin and Mr Howarth

Class Dojo is a great way for me to keep in touch with you all. It's always great to see what you've been up to!

The Summer term's context for learning within our vision is ‘Connected by Curiosity: Whizz, pop, Bang’.

This will be explored through the Story Box approach, which children first encountered in Early Years, which is drama-rich and engages leaners through provocations, requiring deep thinking, with a focus on raising the profile of oracy.

Our World Knowledge, Science and English will all follow the book Rosie Revere Engineer. There are three key inquiry themes we will be looking at; Invention/ Engineering, Gender Stereotypes and Resilience (in files).

Through the story of Rosie Revere Engineer as a basis we will enter Rosie’s world and meet her family and classmates (Frankie Flapper and Iggy Peck). With a focus on Invention Narrative & Explanation and writing Diaries, Letters, Poetry, Instructions and Emails.
