Celebrating our year...
Autumn term
Rachel Macdonald from environmental curriculum at Edsential, Cheshire, came into school to discuss with the children that Edsential have been given a grant for a local nature recovery scheme. The children answered a questionnaire with her and discussed the best way for the money to be used. Some ideas were bird boxes, charging point for cars etc. Rachel told the children some of the areas being used were on flood plains. The children discussed making ponds, lakes and wetlands to encourage more birds and other animals to the areas. The children went back into class and told everyone about a Competition for all the children to enter. If an entry from our school won, school would receive money to improve our natural environment.
Spring term
We ran a Competition for Eco posters to help be more Eco -friendly in school.
Zach, Ruby and Layla were chosen for their posters.
Posters were put up around in classrooms.
Summer term
We have noticed rubbish around the school grounds and we met and spent time tidying it up. The children went back to each class and reminded their classes to use our bins and keep our environment rubbish free.
