Religious Education

Religious Education at Highfield Community Primary School encourages and supports pupils to develop emotionally, socially and morally. Children are given the opportunity to investigate key texts and traditions within different religions and belief systems to equip them to become tolerant and responsible citizens.

We encourage all children to explore the influence of religions and beliefs on individuals, culture, behaviour and national life. We follow the CWAC syllabus for RE throughout school which allows us to ensure progression from EYFS through to KS2.  We have a long term rolling programme covering different faiths and non-religious world views, including Humanism and aspects of religion each half term. This is enhanced by visits to places of worship, community events, visiting speakers and special assemblies. We record our RE learning in our Big Class Books, which allow us to showcase our wonderful RE learning. Our class books also ensure that current vocabulary can be displayed and revisited throughout the week.
